Button and Icon Alignment issues

Hi there,

I am having an alignment issue with the buttons and message icon. I have the default theme selected as I prefer that look but the issue remains when using Bootstrap.

Can you give me some guidance on how to rectify these issues?

Hi Richard,
I see you have changed layout and now there are 4 items per row instead of 2 items as it shown on enclosed image above. So, does this task is no longer actual?

As concerning alert message issue - it's happened due to Joomla template which overrides header style. We need to modify CSS of the template. Can I ask which NorrCompetition theme will be used? Default or Bootstrap2?

Hi Eugene,

I am happy with 4 items per row so that is not an issue now. I intend to keep with the default theme.

Thanks Eugene.

Hi Richard,
To fix warning message issue we need to modify Joomla template style.

You need to edit this file:
yoursite.com/templates/as002039/css/bootstrap.css

Just add the following code in the end of this file:

.alert.alert-message {
    background: none;
    color: currentColor;
    text-shadow: none;
    margin: 0;
}
.alert h4.alert-heading {
    float: none;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
}

It will override default template style and should help. You can use FTP or edit this file via file manager in your hosting panel.
Please let me know about your progress.

Best regards,
Eugene.

Hi Eugene,

This didn't fix the issue. :(

I also note the alignment of the table doesn't seem to be quite correct, this is not a big concern but would be nice if it could be rectified. Should I be discussing this with the template designers?

Cheers,

Richard.

Hi Richard,

This didn't fix the issue. :(

Please clear your browser and Joomla cache and check out the result again.

It's related to NorrCompetition default theme.
The most easy way is to use template override .

1. Copy this file: /yoursite.com/components/com_competition/themes/default/user.apps.php and paste it here:
/yoursite.com/templates/as002039/html/com_competition/ (you need to create new folders)
Now you can modify page layouts and don't worry about loosing your fixes after component update. This is how override system works.
2. Open the file: /yoursite.com/templates/as002039/html/com_competition/user.apps.php and find lines 27-28:
<th class="nc-text-center"><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMPETITION_PUBLISHED'); ?></th>
<th class="nc-text-center"><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMPETITION_APPROVED'); ?></th>

Remove classes. You should get this result:
<th><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMPETITION_PUBLISHED'); ?></th>
<th><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMPETITION_APPROVED'); ?></th>

Save changes and clear cache again. Please let me know about your progress.

So, it seems something was wrong... Please send us temporary FTP access to your site. I'll check out.

Hi Richard,
I beg your pardon, it was my mistake...
I forgot to create default folder in template override.
Here is the correct path:
/yoursite.com/templates/as002039/html/com_competition/default/user.apps.php

And there are extra two lines 79 and 81 with class="nc-text-center".

<td class="nc-text-center">

I removed this class from tags and saved the file. Now all table elements have correct align.
Please check it out.

Hi Eugene,

Unfortunately it is still the same. :(

Also note how this modification has changed the size the of the logout box. I cleared Joomla cache and my browser cache. My Browser is Google Chrome and I have checked the alignment in an unused Firefox. The problem still persists.
