Hi there,

I have set up my first contest, but only superusers can see the submission form. All others just see the select contest dropdown and after selecting, just the submit/cancel buttons are visible, no fields.

Hello Walter,

You have to enable some params for the Public user group in NorrCompetition permissions:
Create
Create Before Contest Start
Create After Contest Start
Create After Vote Start

Please note it's not enough just to allow only Create param, you also must allow one of the following params too. E.g. if you want users to submit contests before the voting is being started, just allow these params:
Create
Create After Contest Start

Oppps, now I see the issue you've described above. Perhaps you have disabled adding new entries to guests until the issue is not solved.

Hello.

I have created a test user to check the problem. I found that you have a Javascript errors that a blocking jQuery AJAX request and fields are failing to load. See the attached screenshot from browser console. Interesting that there is no error when I am logged as Super User and that is why fields are loading normally. Perhaps it is some kind of module or plugin that is working normally for Super User and gives an error for others.

Best regards,
Dmitry

Walter,
Some 3rd party extension makes a mess.
I recommend you to make a copy of the existing site and run it somewhere in a subdomain for further investigation: you need to disable each 3rd party extension and see the result step-by-step.
Finally, you will find what causes the issue.

Hi Eugene,

Please try taking another look and help me with this issue. I have already announced our first contest for August 1st. I've tried yesterday to disable components and plugins, I have uninstalled some that were obsolete, I have updated Joomla and got no results. Norrcontest only works for superusers.

This is super frustrating, I am just a regular user and do not understand how to fix coding or conflicts between extensions. You are the developer of Norrcontest and the only one with the necessary credentials and knowledge to help identify this issue.

Again, please help!

Thank you,

Walter

Walter

This line of code gives an error

twttr.ready(function (twttr)

Do you have some twitter modules?

Dmitry

Here is the full code:

<script>
	window.twttr = (function (d,s,id) {
	  var t, js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
	  if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js=d.createElement(s); js.id=id;
	  js.src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
	  return window.twttr || (t = { _e: [], ready: function(f){ t._e.push(f) } });
	}(document, "script", "twitter-wjs"));
	twttr.ready(function (twttr) {
		// Now bind our custom intent events
		twttr.events.bind('tweet', jfbc.social.twitter.tweet);
	});
</script>

It seems like some kind of JFBC Social module.

Well I found it - it was SHARE THIS PAGE module (JFBC Social Share). I have unpublished it, but... Now instead of fields AJAX request is loading entire website with the error

Error
You are not authorised to view this resource.

Again something is blocking AJAX request on another level :huh: I did not see such thing before :S

Thank you!

I have updated JFBC and removed the Twitter integration.

Norrcontest seems to be working now.

I will continue with the contest setup.

Thanks a lot.
